Common issues

OAuth authorization fails

Symptoms: Unable to complete OAuth flow, redirected with error message Possible causes:
  • Insufficient permissions in PagerDuty
  • Browser blocking OAuth redirect
  • PagerDuty account not active
Solutions:
  • Ensure you have admin access to your PagerDuty account
  • Try using a different browser or clearing browser cache
  • Disable browser extensions that might block OAuth redirects
  • Verify your PagerDuty account is active and in good standing

Schedules not appearing in workflow dropdowns

Symptoms: No schedules available when configuring workflow actions Possible causes:
  • Integration not properly connected
  • No schedules exist in PagerDuty
  • Permissions issue with OAuth token
Solutions:
  • Verify the integration shows as “Connected” in Settings > Integrations
  • Check that schedules exist in your PagerDuty account
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration
  • Refresh the page after reconnecting

On-call validation returns incorrect results

Symptoms: Workflow indicates user is not on-call when they should be (or vice versa) Possible causes:
  • Email address mismatch between Ravenna and PagerDuty
  • Wrong schedule ID selected in workflow
  • Schedule configuration changed in PagerDuty
Solutions:
  • Verify the user’s email in Ravenna matches their email in PagerDuty (case-insensitive)
  • Double-check the schedule ID in your workflow configuration
  • Review the schedule in PagerDuty to ensure it’s configured correctly
  • Check the current time and timezone settings in both systems

Integration shows as disconnected

Symptoms: PagerDuty integration status shows disconnected in settings Possible causes:
  • OAuth token expired or revoked
  • PagerDuty API access removed
  • Network connectivity issues
Solutions:
  • Reconnect the integration by clicking Connect in Settings > Integrations
  • Verify PagerDuty account credentials are still valid
  • Check that Ravenna has not been removed from PagerDuty authorized apps
