Work Objects are UI elements that Slack provides to third-party applications, enabling a more native experience for managing external content directly within Slack. Ravenna supports the Slack ticket Work Object, making it easier to view and manage your tickets without leaving Slack.

Where Work Objects appear

Work Objects display when you share a Ravenna ticket link in Slack. When you paste a ticket URL into a Slack message, Ravenna automatically unfurls it as a Work Object, showing:
  • Ticket title - The full ticket title as a clickable link
  • Status - Current ticket status
  • Priority - Ticket priority level
  • Assignee - Who the ticket is assigned to
  • Requester - Who submitted the ticket
  • Description - A preview of the ticket description
  • Source - Where the ticket originated (Slack, Email, or Web)
Work Objects update automatically when ticket details change, keeping the information in Slack current.

How it works

When you share a Ravenna ticket link in any Slack channel or DM:
  1. Ravenna detects the shared link
  2. The link unfurls into a rich Work Object display
  3. Ticket details appear inline as a native Slack element
  4. Updates to the ticket sync automatically to the Work Object

Benefits

Tickets feel like a natural part of Slack rather than external content.

Faster resolution

Manage tickets without context switching between Slack and Ravenna.

Better visibility

Team members can quickly see ticket status and details at a glance.

Native interactions

Use familiar Slack patterns to interact with your tickets.
