Ravenna makes it easy for you to leverage your existing Knowledge Base content to power AI answers directly in Slack. First, you’ll need to connect a Knowledge source and import your documents.

Head over to the Knowledge tab in the left Nav, and click the Create button to add a new folder.

Adding Documents

Once your folder is set up, click “Add Documents” in the top right to start importing your content.

Select your Knowledge source, and you’ll be guided through an authentication flow to grant Ravenna access to your content.

Knowledge Sources

Slack

Ravenna provides native integration with Slack, allowing you to leverage your team’s conversations and shared knowledge directly in your AI-powered responses. The Slack integration enables you to import messages, threads, and shared resources from selected channels into your knowledge base.

When configuring Slack as a knowledge source, you can select a channel to import. The Slack channel selector allows you to choose which channel to incorporate into your knowledge base.

Important: Only channels that have the Ravenna bot added to them can be imported. Make sure the Ravenna bot has been added to any channel you want to use as a knowledge source before attempting to import it. Currently, you can only select one channel at a time for import.

Note: The date range for message imports cannot be modified at this time. If you need messages from a specific time period, please contact support.

Ravenna can maintain synchronization with your Slack channel only if you enable Auto-Sync in the folder settings (see Auto Sync section below). When enabled, this ensures your knowledge base stays current with the latest discussions and information shared within the selected channel.

Notion

Ravenna supports seamless integration with Notion, allowing you to import your organization’s knowledge base directly into the platform. The Notion document selector enables precise control over which pages and sub-pages to incorporate into your knowledge base.

When selecting Notion content, the interface displays up to two levels of page hierarchy. Ravenna automatically imports all sub-pages beneath your selected parent pages to ensure comprehensive knowledge capture.

Important: Pages not explicitly selected in the document picker will not be imported. Be sure to select all relevant parent pages during the import process.

Any unwanted pages can be removed post-import, and Ravenna intelligently excludes these from future synchronization processes.

Google Drive

Google Drive’s picker is pretty straightforward - you can drag to select multiple docs or use cmd+click (or ctrl+click for Windows folks) to pick and choose.

Confluence

Confluence keeps things simple - no picker needed! Just provide two pieces of information:

We’ll import all documents from your specified space. Like with Notion, you can remove unwanted pages later, and they’ll be skipped during future syncs.

Coda

Coda’s approach is similar to Confluence - just two pieces of information needed:

  • Doc Id - The ID of your Coda document
  • API Token - Your Coda cloud API token

We’ll import all sub-documents from your specified doc. As always, you can remove unwanted pages later, and they’ll be skipped during future syncs.

Website

Want to import content from a public website? Just drop in the URL, and we’ll handle the rest. Note: Website crawling isn’t supported yet, but it’s on our roadmap (we’re working on it, promise!).

Chat Panel

Once your content is imported, you can experiment with Ravenna AI in our Chat Panel. Click on Chat on the top right of the KB Documents screen to open the chat panel. You can ask Ravenna anything related to the content you have imported.

Auto Sync

Keep your documentation fresh with automatic updates. In the Folder detail panel on the right, choose your preferred “Auto-sync” schedule. Currently, you can choose between Daily or Off.

Queue Scoping

By default, your Knowledge is available to all Channels in your workspace. Need to keep certain knowledge private to specific channels? No problem!

Just turn off the “Scope to all Queues” setting and select the Queue you want to associate with your knowledge.
